This Week’s Cheeky Tip:
Earlywork Job Platform Repository
Wondering how I’m pulling together all these roles?
A huge part of it is simply knowing what job platforms to check (and setting up automated notifications for relevant results).
So many students miss out on great roles just because they never see the listing.
That’s why I’ve built a list of all the main job sites and groups that I personally check for entry-level tech & startup roles, including LinkedIn, Glassdoor, Hatch, Breakout.careers, and AngelList.
You can access the full list here:
LinkedIn(IMO, this is the best starting place to capture a wide range of student roles)
Glassdoor (primarily for company reviews and salary insights, but also has a bunch of job listings)
Hatch (Aussie platform to connect a selective, filtered pool of students with temporary, part-time roles at leading companies and startups)
Ribit (Aussie platform to connect students with STEM work experiences)
Breakout.careers (Aussie website, tech and startup-focused but mostly full-time roles)
Startup Galaxy(Aussie website, tech and startup-focused but mostly full-time roles)
Angel.co (exclusively focused on startups & tech, primarily US-focused but some AU and remote roles)
Blackbird Jobs Board(Aussie VC, list of open roles with portfolio companies both domestically and overseas)
AirTree Startup Jobs Sheet(Aussie VC, curated list of startups currently hiring)
Stone & Chalk Job Board (Aussie co-working space, curated list of tech and startup roles, mostly full-time)
Himalayas (Really good resource for remote roles)
Other Sources to Consider
Sellcrowd (platform for sales jobs with specific section for student sales internships)
Sydney Startups (FB group for general startup discussion in Sydney but has some roles that pop up)
GradConnection (Aussie website, mostly corporate intern/grad programs, some tech)
Seek (one of the major job platforms, general focus)
Jora (pretty much Seek with slightly sexier branding)
Indeed (another major job platform, general focus)
Vpply (Aussie job board with video-based job applications)
Adzuna (Aussie website, general focus)
CareerOne (Aussie website, general focus)
SimplyHired (job aggregator, general focus)
Student Jobs and Internships Sydney (FB group for... you guessed it... student jobs and internships in Sydney)
Internships in Sydney (similar FB group as above)
UNSW Careers Online (university-run job board for enrolled students)
USYD CareerHub (university-run job board for enrolled students)
UTS CareerHub (university-run job board for enrolled students)
Macquarie University CareerHub (university-run job board for enrolled students)
WSU CareerHub (university-run job board for enrolled students)
That’s all for today folks! It would be fantastic to get your feedback on the format and any topics you’d like to see in the Cheeky Tip; flick me an email or leave a comment below.
Ciao for now,
Dan
