On September 1, 2020, we sent out the first-ever edition of the Earlywork newsletter to 10 people, coming to life from a mini-manifesto written almost exactly two years ago!

Since then, it’s been a wild journey!

We’ve:

• Gone from a team of 1 to 5

• Quit our jobs and raised funding to go all-in

• Built a thriving careers community with 3K+ members

• Published 70 newsletters alongside writers in our community, with 6K+ subscribers

• Launched an Earlywork hiring platform used by dozens of Aussie startups

• Notched 2M+ LinkedIn impressions over the past year

• Kicked off a hacker house experiment

In our first few months full time, one of the biggest priorities has been talking to our community to understand how we can best help them in their careers.

And when it came to content, three interesting trends emerged around how folks interact with older Earlywork content 👀

1. Many of our older newsletters, particularly around job search, were content pieces that people were still going back to over a year later to help them with career decisions

2. Many of our newer readers had never seen older newsletters, and would often ask questions in the community that were covered by older content

3. People found it hard to discover and browse existing content created by Earlywork

We want to make it easier for readers old and new to find the content that’s most relevant to them, so to mark having sent 70 newsletters, we decided to curate a ‘metanewsletter’ as a content library.
